30 Vendors Participate in Downtown Detroit Markets That Start Today

November 17, 2017, 5:30 AM

Thirty businesses, 22 of them minority-owned, will sell their goods in an outdoor market in 10-by-13 foot booths in Cadillac Square, Capitol Park and Spirit Plaza. It's  part of Downtown Detroit Markets, organized by Bedrock and Quicken Loans, that begins Friday and runs through Jan. 7.

"It's serving two purposes," Francesca George, director of tenant development for Bedrock. tells The Detroit News. "It's serving the community because we’re bringing great options in for the people that are working and living in this area, but also we’re giving small businesses an opportunity to sell their goods, and hopefully eventually break into a brick and mortar type of location."

Vendors include Detroit City Nut Co., Good Cakes & Bakes and Chocolates by Renee.
