Barry Sanders, now 49, was one of the more amazing players to ever suit up in a Lions' jersey.
The Kansas native, who played for the team from 1989 until he left the NFL in 1998, set all kinds of records, leading the league in rushing for four years.
To the disappointment of Lions' fans, he quit playing football after the 1998 season. The Lions subsequently retired his number 20. In 2004, he was inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Sanders remains a beloved figure among football fans, particularly in the Detroit area.
Now Quicken Loans has decided to use him in a commercial, airing regularly, to promote its Rocket Mortgage process.
