A man busted through the front door of a west side Detroit home on Monday morning, shooting and wounding his ex-girlfriend and killing her friend, Camille Amiri of Fox 2 reports. He then fatally shot himself.
The incident happened around 7 a.m. Monday in the 2600 block of Wreford Street, near Grand Boulevard and Linwood.
Detroit Police Chief James Craig said the ex-girlfriend was staying at the home with a friend.
The gunman fired multiple shots and hit the ex-girlfriend three times, but she was able to escape with an 11-year-old child.
The suspect also fatally shot the ex-girlfriend's friend, a woman in her 20s. The 37-year-old gunman then shot himself to death.
A 9-day-old baby belonging to the boyfriend and ex-girlfriend was inside the home, but was not hurt.
