Don't Worry: Condos Won't Replace Ann Arbor's Blind Pig Concert Club

When the Blind Pig at 208 S. First Street in downtown Ann Arbor went up for sale earlier this year, fears arose that the storied concert venue might be knocked down for a condo development.

That's not going to happen.

The business sold Tuesday and new owners say they'll invest in the building and keep it as a hub for local and national musicians, reports Kirk Pinho of Crain's Detroit Business. 

One of its new owners, Joe Malcoun, tells Crains there are plans put more than $1 million in investments to make sure artists love playing there and fans have "the best musical experience they can have."

"We are redesigning the entire sound system and stage. We are increasing the music budget so that Jason Berry, the music buyer, can have more events."
