Full-time school employees for private, public and charters schools in Detroit will are entitled to a 50-percent discount on Detroit Land Bank Authority auctioned homes, Christine Ferretti of The Detroit News reports.
The discount was given earlier to city employees, retirees and their immediate families.
"It’s critical to give our school employees, from teachers to custodial staff, the opportunity to live in the communities they teach in," Mayor Mike Duggan says in a statement.
The discount is applied after a winning bid.
