A Grand Rapids marketing agency creates a slick video promoting Detroit as a good spot for a Major League Soccer team.

The video, which runs just over a minute, is by Cut Through Creative and isn't commissioned by the key investors pushing for a team -- Dan Gilbert and Tom Gores.

"Being big soccer fans, we knew Detroit was bidding for a team," Don Rhoads, the agency's head of development, tells Dana Afana of MLive. "Let's put something that shows off the city of Detroit, the state of Michigan and the soccer community."

The star is former Oakland University soccer player Ron Dewberry, who drove more than four  hours round-trip for the shoot.

On Wednesday, Gores, Gilbert and Mayor Mike Duggan made their pitch in New York for one of two MLS expansion team scheduled to start playing in 2020.
