Vinyl Record Show, Cirque du Soleil and More Weekend Activity Choices

Don't let the snow keep you from getting out, not that there's anything wrong with binging on Netflix shows.

Here are weekend suggestions:

Friday 

"The Royal Tenenbaums:" This 2001 film comedy has an all-star cast (Danny Glover, Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston, Bill Murray, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson). 8 p.m., Redford Theatre, 17360 Lahser Rd., Detroit. Tickets $5.

"The Comeback Kid" art exhibit: "Scenes from the Motor City" is the subtitle of a free exhibition and sale by about 20 Detroit painters, photographers and weavers. 7 p.m.-midnight, Tangent Gallery/Hastings Street Ballroom, 715 E Milwaukee St., Detroit.


Cirque du Soleil performances run through Sunday at Little Caesars Arena.

Saturday

Moscow Festival Ballet:  Saturday 8 p.m., Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, 350 Madison St., Detroit. Tickets $30 to $50.

Photo book reception: "Loess" by Suraj Bhamra explores immigrant identity and American symbols of pride in Hamtramck. Free, 7-10 p.m. at Oloman Café, 10215 Joseph Campau, Hamtramck.

Sunday

Detroit City Record Show:  Vinyl vendors trade and sell 45s, 33s and vintage 78 rpm music.10 a.m. to 3 p.m. UFCW Hall #876, 876 Horace Brown Dr., Madison Heights. Admission $3.

Friday-Sunday

"Crystal" by Cirque du Soleil: A fusion of ice and acrobatics. Friday 7:30 p.m., Saturday,  3:30 and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, 1 and 5 p.m. Little Caesars Arena. Tickets $55-$90.

"The Divine Order" (film): It’s 1971 in Switzerland. Dutiful housewife Nora (Marie Leuenberger) is forbidden by her husband to take a part-time job. As her frustration grows, Nora begins to resist the rules of her male-dominated society. Fri. 7 p.m.; Sat., 7 & 9:30 p.m. Sun. 4:30 p.m. Detroit Film Theatre, DIA.  $9.50 general admission; $7.50 seniors Tickets.
