Local voices are among those raised in disgust over the latest presidential debasement by America's vulgarian-in-chief.
"Insidious racist," "completely ignorant" and "Archie Bunker" appear in Michiganians' social media posts reacting to this immigration comment Thursday to congressional guests in the Oval Office: "Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?"
"Trump's remarks are almost as offensive as his policies," tweets U.S. House retiree John Dingell. "Donald Trump is an absolutely terrible human being. But you already know that," posts Kim Trent, an elected Wayne State board member.

♦ His Archie Bunker is coming out. Obviously, Trump could give two cents about black folks. -- Baron Coleman, Detroit police officer
♦ This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. . . . He's always been an insidious racist, and, if we're being honest, that's one of the main reasons he won the 2016 election. -- Mark Maynard, Ypsilanti blogger
Once again, if the USA was a public corporation, the Board of Directors would be in an emergency call mapping out the CEO's "resignation."— Matt Friedman (@mattfrieds) January 11, 2018

♦ I do not understand how very intelligent people could continue to work for this man. Yet those same people may be our only hope between a presidency sinking into insanity and a country barely holding on to its dignity. Unfortunately, today I worry they are failing. -- Meegan E. Holland, East Lansing
♦ [His] head is a shithole. -- Jeffrey Moss, West Bloomfield
