Coach Tom Izzo: 'I Have The Utmost Faith' in MSU President Lou Anna Simon

January 20, 2018, 7:38 AM

With lawmakers and newspapers calling for her resignation, Michigan State President Lou Anna K. Simon is taking plenty heat. Critics say she didn't do enough to stop MSU doctor Larry Nassar from sexually assaulting scores of female patients after some complained.

But after the university’s Board of Trustees supports Simon on Friday, MSU basketball Coach Tom Izzo did the same in this statement:

Michigan State trustees met Friday with Simon and spent five hours talking behind closed doors after releasing a morning letter that denied any "cover-up" by the university. But they asked Attorney General Bill Schuette to investigate its handling of allegations against the former gymnastics doctor.

However, they made no move with regards to Simon, instead voicing their support.
