Novi Man Threatens to Kill CNN Employees, Cites 'Fake News'

Just in case you're wondering, here's more evidence President Donald Trump's message about "fake news" is getting traction around the nation.

Brandon, Griesemer, 19, of Novi appeared in U.S. District Court in Detroit on Friday and was charged with using interstate communications to threaten injury for threatening to kill CNN employees via phone, saying: “Fake news. I’m coming to gun you all down," the Guardian reports. He was released on a $10,000 bond.

The FBI alleged that Griesemer called CNN’s headquarters in Atlanta about 22 times between Jan. 9 and 10 and threatened violence and made racist and anti-Semitic remarks.

An FBI court affidavit says on one phone call to a CNN operator, he said:  “I am on my way right now to gun the fuckin’ CNN cast down … I am coming to kill you."

Later, he called back and said:  “I’m coming for you CNN. I’m smarter than you. More powerful than you. I have more guns than you. More manpower. Your cast is about to get gunned down in a matter of hours.”

On Monday night, CNN released a statement:

“We take any threats to CNN employees or workplaces, around the world, extremely seriously. This one is no exception. We have been in touch with local and federal law enforcement throughout, and have taken all necessary measures to ensure the safety of our people.”
