Jeff Daniels of Chelsea is heading to Broadway.

Daniels will play lawyer Atticus Finch in "To Kill a Mockingbird." The play begins in November at a theater not yet announced, reports Peter Marks of The Washington Post.

The novel of the same name by Harper Lee is being adapted by Aaron Sorkin as a "new play, based on” the book.

Daniels starred in Sorkin's HBO show, "The Newsroom," which ran from 2012-14.

In 1979, Daniels married college sweetheart Kathleen Rosemary Treado, who's from the Upper Peninsula. They have three children.

The Post says "the play is bound to be one of the cornerstone events of the 2018-19 Broadway season."
