Kilpatrick: I Want a Jury Of My Peers -- In Another City

Lawyers for ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick asked for a change of venue in his public corruption trial during a special hearing Tuesday.

FOX 2's Roop Raj reports attorneys argued that the media coverage of Kilpatrick and the case itself "is an indication of an impartial agenda." Lawyers asked for a break to file for change of venue citing newspaper articles that called out a potential juror.

Raj says Judge Nancy Edmunds said they could file a motion, but did not allow them any extra time to draw up the paperwork.

FOX 2 legal analyst Charlie Langton believes attorneys will file the necessary paperwork today and that Edmunds will consider the motion.
