Gilbert to Add Spring and Summer Pop-Up Markets Downtown

March 07, 2018, 7:30 AM by  Allan Lengel

More than 30 local pop-up businesses sold wares in downtown Detroit last holiday season in tents, booths and igloos.

Now Dan Gilbert's Quicken Loans and Bedrock will add spring and summer markets from late April through September, an announcement says:

Due to the tremendous success of this winter’s Downtown Detroit Markets, the markets will be back for another season to create new opportunities in celebration of local entrepreneurship.

We invite small businesses to be part of the Downtown Detroit Markets this spring and summer for a unique food, beverage, art and retail scene. These markets will be located in highly activated parks in the heart of the city, paired with diverse programming and entertainment offerings for everyone.

More than 50 artists, makers, entrepreneurs and small businesses will be chosen to receive a five-month residency in downtown Detroit, beginning in late April through the beginning of September. This upcoming season there will be a particular focus on food and beverage as well as art vendors.

Businesses can apply here by March 18. Vendors will be announced March 22.
