Local-Born Grammy Award Winner Don Was Tries to Revive Record Label

Don Was, the Grammy Award-winning producer, who grew up in Oak Park, is trying to revive Blue Note Records. Was, aka Don Fagenson, has produced records for such notables as Bob Dylan and Bonnie Raitt. He also formed the band Was (Not Was) with childhood friend David Weiss, a fellow Oak Parker. The New York Times writes about the 59-year-old's move to revive the record label.
