Owner Gayle Harte expects to shut after Mother’s Day (May 13). Furniture, fixtures, ribbon, packaging and molds will be sold that weekend.

Harte plans to move to Sedona, Ariz., where she'll continue selling chocolates online, reports Susan Selasky of the Freep

Crain's Detroit Business reports that Harte is scouting a new location for a store in Cottonwood, Ariz., where an investor is prepared to buy a 75 percent stake.

“I’ve been in Royal Oak for a long, long time. This is home. But, it’s time for me to start a new chapter in my life,” Harte, 70, says in a news release. “Looking back, these 34 years have flown by so fast because I truly love what I do. I’m incredibly thankful to all of the employees and customers who have come through our doors.”

Through Easter, Harte will give away away a box of  four truffles with every order of $50 or more. In addition, the first 100 customers to visit the store on her birthday (Saturday, April 21) get a four-piece truffle box.
