To get a sense of where Detroit is headed, it's often helpful to see where it has been. We ran across this video, nearly 14 minutes long, touting the late Mayor Coleman A. Young's accomplishments in his first 14 years in office.
The video is produced the city's Department of Public Information. So, don't expect any criticism.
It's a feel-good video of what Young had accomplished since taking office in January 1974. He served until the start of 1994 and died in November 1997 at 79.
In 2017, his son Coleman A. Young II ran for mayor and lost.
