"I'm Shmacked The Movie: University of Michigan Welcome Week," is a sort of alt introduction to U-M that includes scenes of the University of Michigan's distinctive architecture, students drinking, the Diag, students drinking, dorms, students drinking, the Graduate Library, students drinking, some guy flashing a thick roll of $20 bills, students dancing and students preparing Ganja.

One memorable scene shows a young man overturning a beer pong table.

"If you don't go to Michigan you're a pesant," another young man shouts into the camera.

The video is one of 24 similar "Schmacked" videos from other campuses that have been produced by two partners, one 19 and the other 20.

"I think we're doing something positive for the schools: I have had about 30 kids say they ended up at a school because of my video," one of the creators, Jeffrie Ray, told the New York Times. (To read that story, click here.)

One U-M student was not amused. Melanie Kruvelis, writing in the student paper, recounted the reaction among other students at a campus hangout: "The expressions in the room range from nauseated condescension to apathetic-American-Apparel-model-meets-kicked-puppy. The tragically hip haven’t been this upset since that anthropology professor used Comic Sans. It’s that serious." (Read her story here.)
