Violent Exit: As Employee Quits, She Chokes and Stabs HR Worker with Pen, Cops Say

July 13, 2018, 8:35 AM

Sakyra Ellis, 28, of Redford, is accused of quitting violently.

She faces assault charges after allegedly putting a human resources worker in a choke hold and stabbing her in the left arm with a pen, WXYZ reports. She's scheduled to be arraigned Friday.

It allegedly happened as Ellis was resigning from Custom Home Health Care on West Big Beaver Road in Troy and turned in her equipment, including a broken computer tablet.

The HR rep said she'd have to pay $500 for it to be fixed, per company policy. That's when she got violent, according to the cops, who stopped her while driving on I-75 near 14 Mile.
