A band of coyotes -- about a dozen in all -- have taken up residence in a neighborhood in Detroit's west side, which concerns residents.

Residents around Tyler Street near Linwood tell Fox 2's Jessica Dupnack they have been dealing with the issue for six months and are concerned the coyotes might attack a pet or child.

One resident says the coyotes live in what's left of a collapsed home and a garage of  another abandoned home.

"They will go into your yard, your garbage, they are everywhere," said resident Mark Carter, whose nephew tosses the ball around on the block. "I'm worried one of the big ones will come out and snatch them up.

"We've called the city, we've called the police, the fire department, everyone. We are trying to get some results for this. I don't want to see anyone get hurt over these coyotes.
