Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette didn't get any love points in the governor's office when he came after Gov. Rick Snyder's administration in the Flint water crisis. Schuette has also embraced President Donald Trump from the get-go, something Snyder has refused.
So, it comes as no surprise that Snyder, a Republican, declared that he won't be endorsing Schuette, the GOP candidate for governor.
“I’m staying out of politics,” he said Wednesday night in Grand Rapids, according to Phil Dawson of WZZM. “I’m governing.”
In reality, it's probably a polite way of saying he won't back his nemesis, Schuette.
“I have always viewed myself as a traditional politician and there are a lot of things I want to get done before I am finished. So I want to stay focused on getting more and more and better results for our citizens,” he explains.
Snyder, who is serving out his last term this year, endorsed his Lt. Gov. Brian Calley for governor in the August primary in which Schuette easily won.
