Miss Michigan caused a stir on social media when she introduced herself during the 93rd annual Miss America pageant Sunday night in Atlantic City.
"From the state with 84 percent of America's freshwater but none for its residents to drink, I am Miss Michigan, Emily Sioma," said the 24-year-old from Grass Lake.
She gets applause on Twitter, where a Manhattan magazine editor's tweet (first one below) is shared about 190,000 times.

Miss Michigan should automatically win #MissAmerica for starting with this!
