Update, Thursday, 12:30 p.m.: The teen accused in the fatal stabbing of a Warren Fitzgerald High School classmate telegraphed her violence on social media.

In a Facebook post late Wednesday, Mayor Jim Fouts said he he spoke with a friend of the 17-year-old suspect's family and was told she "let her anger get in the way of good judgement," report Norb Franz and Mitch Hotts of The Macomb Daily.

"I spoke to a friend of the family and she stated the older girl had apparently posted on social media what she planned on doing to her good friend," the mayor writes. "Someone on social media may have seen this and could have prevented this had they told someone."
