Update, 4:43 p.m. Monday:  Probationary Detroit cop Sean Bostwick, who was suspended for a social media post over the weekend has been fired, Police Chief James Craig announces/

"He was terminated," at a meeting Monday with the chief and a union representative, The Detroit News reports. "This is his last day on our payroll. Tomorrow, he will no longer be a Detroit police officer. He is clear on that."

The 27-year-old recruit came under investigation internally after posting an offensive Snapchat that refers to Detroit suspects as “zoo animals,” Steve Neavling of Motor City Muckraker writes. Sean Bostwick was suspended Sunday, Fox 2 News and other media report.

The department’s internal affairs unit confirmed that it's investigating Bostwick after he sent a photo of himself in a police uniform and typed: "Another night to Rangel [sic] up these zoo animals." (The word he wants in wrangle.)

Craig sees the booted newcomeruit as unfit to wear a ,police uniform, a quote in The News shows:

"Any department that hires him will be concerned about this post. I don't think any city would want to take a chance or risk, but that's between him and a potential employer."
