Update, 5:25 p.m. Tuesday: Jaylon Juwan Kerley of Roseville, the 20-year-old Comerica Park food worker caught on video spitting into pizza dough, faces a felony and a misdemeanor charge.

The felony carries a penalty of up to four years. The misdemeanor calls for a maximum sentence of 90 days.

Kerley is accused of spitting on the pizza he was preparing on Friday at the ballpark, as videotaped by a concerned co-worker.

Kerley was arraigned Tuesday morning in 36th District Court in Detroit before Magistrate Millicent Sherman. Bond is set at $100,000, with a requirement that he post 10 percent.

“The allegation in this case is disturbing on so many levels. Yesterday I literally refused to order food," Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a statement. "We all want to make sure all food that we order is clean, safe, germ-free, and unadulterated with any substance that should not be there.”

Original article, Tuesday morning:

A 20-year-old food service worker at Comerica Park in Detroit is arrested after a co-worker's social media video shows him spitting in a pizza he was making.

The video appeared on Instagram over the weekend and shows someone spitting on the pizza, according to Bethany Moore of  WXYZ.

Comerica Park officials said the video was recorded Friday, when the Detroit Tigers hosted the Kansas City Royals, WWJ reports. The head of security at Comerica Park reported the spitting incident to police Friday.

“As soon as we became aware through social media of potential food tampering Friday night, we immediately closed that food stand and disposed of all the product. Food safety is our top priority and we will take any appropriate action necessary to protect our guests,” Detroit Sportservice said in a statement.

Comerica worker Quinelle May said he took the video and posted it after he tried to tell management. He claims no one wanted to hear about it.
