Update, 7:35 a.m. Monday: Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett rebuts an accusation that his band crossed the picket line at the Marriott Westin Book Cadillac. The rockers actually stayed at the Foundation Hotel in downtown Detroit, he tweets:
scab? really?? we didn't stay at the marriott. i did however post this the other day in support of your strike - https://twitter.com/ChrisShiflett71/status/1051520152754253824 …
Original post Saturday:
The Foo Fighters, who played at Little Caesars Arena this week, were more than a little tone-deaf, considering they were in Detroit.
The group loses respect in the eyes of a Detroit-based hospitality union, whoch says the rockers snuck past the picket line outside of the Westin Book Cadillac after Monday's concert, Jerilyn Jordan of Metro Times reports.
Striking cooks, servers, housekeepers, doormen and others represented by Unite Here Local 24 seek higher wages and benefits as part of a national walkout in seven areas against Marriott, the hotel's parent company. The Detroit strike began Oct. 7.
Yeah, but you crossed our picket line at the Westin Book Cadillac, which is not very rock n roll. #Scab #1job #MarriottStrike https://t.co/ttJtLqZ4JB
