John James and Sen. Debbie Stabenow

We've all been bombarded with campaign commercials in the past several months. Some are accurate and some are not. It's hardly shocking if they aren't.

But a radio ad airing on behalf of Republican U.S. Senate hopeful John James sinks to an all-time low for the 2018 campaign (which, by the next campaign, will probably be remembered as a moment of decency and grace, because that's how these things are going). It suggests that Sen. Debbie Stabenow is responsible for "black genocide" because she's pro-choice.

The spot, from a conservative political action committee in Virginia, has aired sporadically for the past month on WMXD-FM, a Detroit-area R&B station.

It's not produced directly by James' campaign. But what's telling is that while black clergy members in Detroit condemn the attack, James remains silent.

Shameful.

The ad insults voters' intelligence. The condescending James apparently thinks he can dupe the black community, just like his hero, President Trump.

Here's a partial transcript from Bridge Magazine:

Announcer: A new study shows 61 percent of black deaths are caused by abortion. African American pastors said it’s black genocide

Man: Black genocide, that’s pretty strong

Woman: It’s worse than you think, more than 1,800 black babies are aborted each day, half of all the black babies in America

Man: What?

Woman: And Senator Debbie Stabenow is part of the problem. She supports abortion for any reason.

Man: How can Debbie Stabenow ask for our votes when she doesn’t even want our babies?

Horrific.

The ad goes on to say:

Man: Isn’t John James the black Republican?

Woman: John James is working for more jobs and getting black families the choice in their kids’ schools.

Man: Debbie Stabenow and half of all black babies aborted or John James and more opportunity? Sounds like a simple choice.

James' silence should be enough to tell you what kind of person he is.
