October 02, 2012, 6:45 AM

The lights are back on at the Michigan Central Station.

The Manny Moroun-owned Detroit International Bridge Co., which owns the depot, is slowly making progress in restoring the 17-story building on Michigan Avenue, which for years has symbolized Detroit's decay.

According to "The Bridge Connection," the bridge company's newsletter, the company also has completed removal of the roof and soon will shortly seek bids for its replacement. The company also will seek bid packages for demolition, masonry, concrete, steel and other restoration work.

Company officials declined to comment to the Detroit News.
