This continues an annual holiday season tradition we began in December 2016 and resumed the weekend after Thanksgiving with this year's first gallery with 12 photos.
These wonderful things are the things
We remember all through our lives
Downtown attractions draw visitors all year, keep people there after work and fill residences in the city's core. This month, those lures -- restaurants, bars, music, shows, sports, free events -- are supplemented by holiday happenings.
There's a towering evergreen, heated market booths and lounge tents, skating outdoors on ice and indoors on a roller rink, and weekend carriage rides. This winter wonderland includes the Woodward fountain, colorfully lit Campus Martius Rink, fire pits, a giant menorah and that 60-foot Norway spruce with ornaments and over 19,000 multi-colored LED lights -- a ready-made photo backdrop.
So it's no surprise to see a stream of snapshots from young couples, new parents, decades-long pairs and even this marriage proposal to Mary Estes-Dotani of Allen Park by an automotive industry manager from Northville:
