Video: Ex-Fox 2 News Anchor's Corktown pot Dispensary Robbed in Smash-and-Grab

BotaniQ has made headlines for being run by a former newswoman and for being Detroit's first vertically integrated marijuana shop. Now, it's making headlines for the wrong reason: The north Corktown facility — specifically, its dispensary — was robbed in a brazen smash-and-grab Monday.

Video obtained by WXYZ shows a gray Dodge truck ramming through the back of the dispensary in the early morning hours. Police say between 6 and 8 men wearing masks carried out the robbery, taking various items. A store employee says on social media that those items were vape pens and edibles. Police say the safe and cash registers were untouched. The suspects have not been caught.

Co-owned by former Fox 2 anchor Anqunette Jamison-Sarfoh, BotaniQ is creates pot products from start to finish — meaning that the growing, processing, and selling is all done on-site.

In an Instagram post, Jamison-Sarfoh pointed out the irony of the timing of the robbery — about 4:20 in the morning.

Jamison-Sarfoh says the store will reopen, "hopefully in a few days."
