It's the end of an era for popular Royal Oak nightclub Luna. The dance spot is closing after 19 years with no explanation.

"Luna Nightclub has now officially closed its doors with extremely heavy hearts," a Thursday night post on its Facebook page said. "Thank you for your business, your smiles, your dances & your love & support over the years. Thank you for choosing Luna to celebrate your birthdays, bachelorette parties, divorce parties, onesie bar crawls and more."

The news shocked fans of the club on Main Street and 12 Mile Road.

"No last and final party? At least give us that," one follower commented with a crying face emoji.

Others wasted no time in eulogizing the club — sharing memories like meeting significant others ("thanks for the husband") and trekking across the street to a 24-hour National Coney Island for a late night snack.

The last event on the club's website was a New Year's Eve party. We've messaged Luna's owners seeking details.
