Restaurants at 2547 Bagley Ave. in Mexicantown haven't lasted long. First came The Huron Room, a fish restaurant. Last Febuary it became Fist of Curry, which shut in less than six months.
Now a Mexican spot named Peso is about to open there, reports Brenna Houck of Eater Detroit:
The team behind forthcoming Corktown mezcal and tequila bar Toma Detroit and the owner of Green Dot Stables have struck a partnership to open Peso, a bar and restaurant slinging margaritas, burritos. . . .
Toma Detroit’s team had previously hosted pop-ups in the space to drum up support for their project during the 2018 Comerica Hatch Detroit contest. . . .
Peso is on track to debut in late February with a full opening in March.
