Chef Tiffany maked Caribbean-style jerk wings in Detroit

One Detroit chef named Tiffany makes soul food, including cornbread, mac and cheese and jerk wings. Another, a pastry chef named Cherelle, bakes varieties of cheesecake at her place in Oak Park.

These underground entrepreneurs get the word out on Instagram so customers can see the menus and come by to pick up their eats, or use a delivery service such as Uber Eats, Grubhub or Door Dash.

Cliff Skighwalker, 30, of Pontiac, host of "Instachef," a web series, visits the soul food chef and cheesecake maker for his amusing show.

Traveling with him is friend Joe Freshgood, a fashion designer from Chicago.

"Instachef," which is being produced by Thrillist, is a six-part web series that recently launched.

Besides Detroit, Skighwalker has visited Philadelphia, Miami, Houston, New Orleans and Los Angeles.

The 22-minute Detroit show, posted on YouTube last Wednesday, already exceeds 110,000 viewings.
