Earlier update, 10:49 a.m. Wendesday: Ex- U.S. Rep. John Dingell, 92, is in hospice care after a cancer diagnosis, the family says, according to The Detroit News.
Dingell was diagnosed a year ago with prostate cancer that had metastasized. Dingell decided not to treat it and recently went into hospice care, a family member said Wednesday.
Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Dearborn, said her husband is in relatively good spirits. He's the longest-serving member of Congress, representing his western Wayne County district for over 59 years.

Dingell's communication director did not immediately respond to an email for comment.
A person answering the phone in her Washington office said "I don't have any furth informaiton" and that the Congresswoman is asking for privacy. beon post.they
Dingell's husband John, 92, has often been a witty and sometimes biting presence on Twitter. He's been a big critic of President Trump.
In September, John Dingell was hospitalized for about a week after suffering an apparent heart attack.
