All 68 seniors from Christo Rey High School, the city’s only co-ed Catholic school, are accepted to colleges, Simon Shaykhet reports for WXYZ.

Seniors are being honored in a big way for continuing the tradition for eight straight years.

"We are so proud of this class, and it really is a testament to the job skills that they learn as well as their hard work and dedication as students," says school President Michael Khoury. . . .

Among the colleges accepting the seniors are NYU, MSU, EMU, WSU, Loyola, Kettering and U of M.

The private school, which promotes itself as "the school that works," serves "students from economically disadvantaged families . . . of all denominations," it says.

Principal Kevin Cumming, who came to Christo Rey in 2017 after 18 years as a Rochester Community Schools administrator, says in an enrollment pitch:

"Our rigorous college prep curriculum prepares students for the challenges of college, while our unique corporate work study program provides students with real world work experiences. . . . Graduates are provided ongoing support as they transition into college."
