Craig Fahle on DUI Arrest: 'My World Was Crumbling'

March 01, 2019, 1:59 PM

Craig Fahle: "I was in a downward spiral."

Craig Fahle, host of Deadline Detroit's "The Friday Fahles" and the podcast "The Craig Fahle Show," delivered an apology on his podcast Friday for a Nov. 9 arrest for drunk driving and drug possession in Grosse Pointe Park. He said the incident was a "demoralizing' and "humiliating" experience that landed him in jail for three days.

The Grosse Pointe News first reported that Fahle was sentenced Wednesday to one-year reporting probation and community service by District Judge Carl F. Jarboe.

In his Friday podcast, Fahle said, in part:

"I'm sorry. Truly sorry. . . . But I had a conversation this morning with my brother, who told me above all else, be honest about what happened, about where you are in life, why you acted in the way that you did, and then do something about it.

"He's right. I owe you that. So, this is how it happened. Back in November I was struggling mightily. My business was failing. I kept a brave face, told everyone things were was going OK. All was going to be well. But in reality, my world was crumbling around me."
