Many people think of the Ku Klux Klan as being a fixture in the South back in the day. But the reality is that in the 1920s, the Klan also had a stronghold in Detroit. In the 1920s, the notorious white supremacy group almost elected Charles E. Bowles as mayor of Detroit.
