Fans of Ann Arbor’s popular Cuban burger joint, Frita Batidos on West Washington Street, will be pleased to know the restaurant expands to downtown Detroit in July.

Chef Eve Aronoff tells Eater Detroit editor Brenna Houck that the restaurant is finishing construction and will begin training staff later next month to prepare for the opening on the Columbia Street promenade. It's along the walkway near the Fox Theatre and the new Little Caesars headquarters under construction.

The menu has egg-topped chorizo burgers, crispy plantains, creamy tropical milkshakes,  guava-cheese empanadas and sliced fruit seasoned with lime and chili.
