Need confirmation it's summer? Go to West Riverfront Park on Friday or this weekend.

The 13th annual Detroit River Days unfold at that new site, 22 acres of city land off West Jefferson Avenue between Rosa Parks Boulevard and 8th Street on the Southwest side.

Detroit River Days 2018 were on the River Walk east of downtown, a more cramped site.

Attractions include a zip line, air shows, jet ski stunts, concerts, roving entertainers, kids' activities, yoga and about 110 food trucks.

"West Grand Boulevard meets West Riverfront Park as the city celebrates 60 years of the Motor City's signature sound," a Detroit Riverfront Conservancy page says. The Motown Museum presents a "Motown 60 at 6" hour of music and spoken word each evening at 6 p.m. at the largest of four stages -- including one with magic, science demonstrations, children's music and animal shows..

These headliners perform on the "National Stage:"

  • Friday, 6:45 p.m.: Mary Jane Girls , R&B group
  • Friday, 8:30 p.m.: Smokey Robinson
  • Saturday, 6:45 p.m.: Brian McKnight
  • Saturday, 8:30 p.m.: Brandy
  • Sunday, 7:15 p.m.: Carl Thomas
  • Sunday, 8:30 p.m.: Faith Evans

Air shows take place at 1 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. on the next two days.
