Shakeup at the Top at Art Van Furniture

Art Van Furniture CEO Ron Boire is out after just over a year, JC Reindl of the Detroit Free Press reports.

He's the second CEO to depart from the 190-store, nine-state company since it was acquired in 2017 by Boston-based private equity firm Thomas H. Lee Partners after 58 years of ownership by founder Art Van Elslander, who died in Febuary 2018 at age 87.

The company declined to elaborate, but announced Thursday that Gary Van Elslander, a board member and son of the elder Van Elslander, now is board chair, the paper says.
