Detroit police are investigating a deadly shooting at a gas station in the city's Boynton neighborhood near River Rouge.

Gunfire occurred Thursday just before midnight when three or four masked suspects in a white minivan followed a vehicle into the parking lot of the Exxon at 1781 S. Fort St., according to police.

A 46-year-old man walking out of the convenience store was shot and killed. A 26-year-old woman in the back of the black Ford Taurus that was the apparent target was also shot. She's in stable condition.

The gas station is a Project Green Light partner.
