Notables including Pistons owner Tom Gores and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan celebrated Monday's official opening Monday of the $90-million Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center at Second Avenue and Amsterdam Street in Detroit’s New Center area.
The facility has a 185,000-square-foot training facility and corporate headquarters for the NBA franchise, and includes a sports medicine treatment and rehabilitation facility managed by Henry Ford Health System.
The site near Henry Ford Hospital and about two miles north of Little Caesars Arena is touted as the league's largest practice center and team headquarters.
The building will also house a Plum Market, Blink Fitness and space for networking receptions and team- hosted events.
