This opening won't be enough to give you flashbacks to the old days when people flocked to Woodward in downtown Detroit to do their Christmas shopping.

Nonetheless, it's worth noting.

The Detroit Free Press reports that Moosejaw, a retailer headquartered in Madison Heights that specializes in outdoor recreation apparel and gear for snowboarding, rock climbing, hiking, and camping, is opening a "pop-up" store today for the Christmas season.

The store will open at 1275 Woodward Ave. downtown, between Grand River and State streets near the existing Somerset Collections CityLoft storefront, the Freep reports. A grand opening, replete with beer and gifts, will be held on Friday from noon-9 p.m.

The store will stay open until Dec. 22.
