Two Metro Detroit hotels -- the Birmingham's Townsend Hotel and The Henry in Dearborn have gotten shoutouts in in Conde Nast Traveler magazine's Top 25 Hotels in the Midwest.
Birmingham Patch reports that the magazine's Readers' Choice Awards pegged The Henry at 17 and the Townsend at 20. The states included in the listing were Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin. The Hotel Iroquois on Mackinac Island was named number 24.
The Townsend (room pictured to the right) has been known as a favorite destination among visiting rock stars and sports teams.
The magazine gave the tony hotel an 82.7 score out of 100. Chicago's Waldorf Astoria was named number 1.
