David Griem, the former attorney for infamous Grosse Pointe Park resident Bob Bashara, is out $8,000.

Judge Kenneth King of the 36th District Court on Monday ordered the high-profile attorney to pay $2,000 to the prosecution, $2,000 to the attorneys for accused hitman Joseph Gentz and and $4,000 in court fines, MLive reports.

MLive writes that Griem admitted to civil contempt of court in October after he issued a subpoena on a non-existent case to obtain records for Gentz, who claims Bashara hired him to kill wife Jane Bashara. Griem also admitted giving discovery materials of Bob Bashara's solicitation of murder case to Bashara's mother.

Gentz is awaiting trial on charges of murdering Jane Bashara, but is likely to strike up a plea, according to those familiar with the case. Bashara has pleaded guilty to trying to hire someone to kill Gentz.

Law enforcement sources have told Deadline Detroit that Bashara is still expected to be charged in his wife's death.
