Dickerson: Hooker Gets Justice, 14 Months After Client Drops Dead

Natasha Vanwasshenova was servicing a client in 2010 with heroin and sex when the client died.
Her bosses told her to flee the home, but she called 911 and tried to help the customer. Cops jailed her after she admitted supplying heroin and the medical examiner ruled the drug was the primary cause of death. She faced life in prison.
But her lawyer pursued the angle that the customer had serious heart problems and had bathed in a hot tub, showered and had sex before dropping dead. Vanwasshenova walked out of jail this week. The creaky justice system worked like it is supposed to, Brian Dickerson writes.
