Kwame Kilpatrick, who resides in the Dallas area, is trying to enjoy the holiday break from his public corruption trial in downtown Detroit.
On his Twitter page, he writes "Enjoying the Holidays with my family."
On Saturday, he tweeted: "Been a little tied up. Just finished watching the 3rd Season of Boardwalk Empire. Now, Sons of Anarchy! Then reading another book."
He said he planned on Monday to see the movie "Django Unchained."
"Going to see it on Monday. The crowds have been off the hook here."
On Christmas day he tweeted: "Today...one of the best days ever! I even snapped a picture of my Mom & Dad together. LOL!"
The day before Christmas, he wrote: "Sitting up here peeling sweet potatoes, sampling all of tomorrow's food, joking w/my family & listening to Christmas songs. Priceless!"
Trial resumes on Thursday.
