Julia NiswenderMore than four weeks have passed since police found EMU junior Julia Niswender's body in her off-campus Ypsilanti apartment. But police have nothing new to say about the apparent murder, John Counts reports at AnnArbor.com

"We are still awaiting results from toxicology, forensic laboratory analysis and a final autopsy report," said a release Wednesday afternoon.

The lack of information about the death of Niswender, a 23-year-old communications major, is tough for her family, a spokesman says.

 "They're angry and they're frustrated," said Jacob McLaughlin. . . .

McLaughlin has known the Niswender family for nearly 12 years and graduated in 2008 from Monroe High School with Julia and her twin sister, Jennifer. The sisters would have shared a birthday later this month on Jan. 25, which is heightening emotions around the Niswender household, McLaughlin said.

Detectives haven't said what they found in Niswender’s first-floor apartment Dec. 11 that led them to rule her death a possible homicide, Counts writes.
