Quicken Loan's Dan Gilbert continues to gobble up chunks of the city.

It's no longer will he buy anything else, but rather, what will he buy?

On Wednesday, Athens Acquisition LLC , part of Gilbert's Rock Gaming, announced that it had entered into an agreement to acquire a majority interest in the Greektown Casino-Hotel.

Crain's Detroit Business reports that terms of the deal -- which still must be approved by the Michigan Gaming Board -- were not released. But one thing is clear: The deal will give Gilbert's company majority voting control of the casino, hotel and related assets.

Plans are still in the early phase. But Rock Gaming Chairman Dan Gilbert said he plans to make significant investment in the Greektown Casino-Hotel and the enhancement and growth of the entertainment district.

"We see this unique area extending to Campus Martius and along Woodward Avenue, building on the positive momentum already occurring in the heart of downtown Detroit," he said.

Gilbert has acquired 15 office buildings downtown and is reportedly close to buying a 16th one. He also owns casinos in Ohio and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
