Mayoral Hopeful Lisa Howze Should Have a Higher Profile After Super Bowl Ad

Talk about strategic timing.
State Rep. Lisa Howze will advertise her Detroit mayoral candidacy during this week's most-watch program, Steve Neavling reports at his Motor City Muckraker blog.
The first-term legislator has bought space to run a Super Bowl ad on CBS on Feb. 3, six months before the primary election.
Campaign Director Brandon Jessup said “the ad will focus on a brighter future for Detroit and its people. The 30-second ad will air during the Super Bowl in Metro Detroit and run during a week-long media campaign.”
Howze, an accountant with auditing experience, is running against two better-known candidates -- Benny Napoleon and Mike Duggan. Mayor Dave Bing hasn't said whether he'll seek another term.
