Deadline Detroit's 2012 Journalism Awards

It's was a busy 2012 for Detroit.

Kwame Kilpatrick went on trial; Detroit nearly went bankrupt; the legislature passed a law making Michigan a right-to-work state; a number of VIP muggings took place; the FBI went after Wayne County government officials and Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert's building-buying spree made him the No 1 player in downtown Detroit.

And that summary just scratches the surface.

After looking back on the biggest stories of 2012, Deadline Detroit is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 Deadline Detroit Journalism Awards. 

Deadline Detroit will donate $1,000 to each winner's favorite Detroit-based charity.
